प्ांचतंत्र, जातक कथा, कथा सरितसागर आदि में शामिल कहानियां ने हमारे दिलो दिमाग को कंडिशन्ड कर दिया है। हम हर कहानी में कोई न कोई मूल्य, नैतिकता के पाठ ढूंढ़ते हैं। फलां कहानी में क्या नैतिक शिक्षा मिलती है आदि सवालों के जवाब की तलाश में कहानी की आत्मा की हत्या कर देते हैं।
दिल्ली या दिल्ली के बाहर रहने वाली शिक्षिका साथी सवाल करती हैं कि इस कहानी में क्या नैतिक शिक्षा बताएं तब उन पर कम सबसे ज्यादा खुद पर सवाल खड़ा करने का मन करता है कि हमने भावी शिक्षक/शिक्षिकाओं को इस तरह से अकादमिक और शैक्षिक सवालों, उलझनों से जूझने के लिए क्यों तैयार नहीं किया। यदि एक शिक्षिका/शिक्षक तकरीबन पंद्रह बीस सालों के शिक्षण तजर्बे के बाद इस सवालों से परेशान है तो इसका अर्थ हुआ हमारी शिक्षक प्रशिक्षण संस्थानों ने हमारे शिक्षकों को मजबूती से तैयार नहीं किया।
कई बार लगता है शिक्षकों को एक एथलीट और खिलाड़ी की तरह खुद को रोज प्रैक्टिस में लगाना चाहिए। यदि खिलाड़ी अभ्यास न करे तो मैदान में वह प्रदर्शन नहीं कर पाएंगे। शिक्षकों को भी अपनी दक्षता, हूनर को रोज दिन मांजना अपने प्रोफेशन के साथ न्याय करना होता है।
इस तरह के सवालों पर बाल कृष्ण देवसरे, प्रकाश मनु, क्षमा शर्मा, शेरजंग गर्ग, पंकज चतुर्वेदी आदि ने गंभीरता से विमर्श किया है। इन लेखकों की रचनाएं और किताबें हमारी दृष्टि को साफ ही करती हैं।

We talk about morality everyone because of the immorality that resides in our heads all the time. A morally correct person doesn't require to talk about morality just as he doesn't require to talk about his other habits. We do not very often talk about our normal actions and behaviours.
The conditioned minds think that morals can be taught and if they talk about morals they might have a chance to prove themselves superior over others. But they don't understand the simple fact that children tend to learn a very little from what the teachers say. Rather they tend to learn more from what their teachers do and how their teacher are.
In this process of churning out the moral of the story we miss out on the most important opportunities that a story offers us to develop the skills of discussion, thinking, analysis, imagination, expression, paraphrasing and many more.
A thinking and reflective teacher can teach you the entire course of a complete year using just a couple of stories and a couple of poems.
Unfortunately, as a system we failed to prepare our teachers that way.
When teaching becomes a job, it leads to disasters but when teaching becomes a profession it creates wonders.
Strange how we have closely linked story with moral/ values...Story serves other purposes as well..Moreover in present day scenario it's difficult to "teach" morals to students...Coz today morals can't be black or white...And something has to be left to the imagination of students too..
But in earlygrades,Not all at least some stories can have some morals values so a value system can be inculcated among the students.because what we read ,impacts our thinking and our personality too.that's why now a day's we have one book named natikshiksha in each standard up to 5 class .story has many aspects,so apart from fun it can also give some message to students at least some stories can be selected for this .because in early stage a child is like a soft clay and we can give him or her any impression .And if it can be combined with little moral value ,then it can be useful for the society in future too.For example if we are reading Mahadevi verma stories ,We feel sad but if we are reading parsai ji then
We all know .so there should be a blend of stories which justify the early stage learning fruitful .
Kuchh kahaniyon mein moral bhi hota hai, lekin koi jaruri nahin hai ki moral ke bina kahani hi na ho. Teacher training institutes mein kahani discuss karte samay in baton ko bhi bataya jana chahiye.
